River Flows (Gauge/CFS)

What's Going On...

5/8/23 - Welcome to the grand releasing of the new website. I have been busy on the water this spring and hope to keep posting. The Battenkill has been fishing well. The Sulfurs are coming off the water and the fish are noticing. Trail a caddis because they are mixed in as well. The Sulfurs should continue to come for another couple of weeks. Some nymphs to fish if the hatch is slow are copper johns (#12-16), golden stones (#12-14) and RS-2s (#18-20). The Hex hatch is approaching and quite a delight indeed. The fish will continue to be up and eating bugs for the weeks to come.

The Hoosic also has Sulfurs with March Browns mixed in. Fishing the surface in the mornings and evenings has been productive. Streamer fishing has been worth while with the abundance of minnows in the water. Productive nymphs have included copper johns, pheasant tails and soft hackles.

The Willomsac is on the low and warm side of things. If you must fish go early or late in the day. Look for similar bugs to the above rivers but you can also trail an olive/black wooly bugger.
